Back to School

Last week the boys started back to school again. They were both very excited. Brendan is now a third grader and has moved from Laurel Hill Primary to Charles Pinckney Elementary, he is very excited about his new school, teacher and classmates. After much contemplating over the summer, we decided to hold Dylan back to repeat Kindergarten again this year. Even though he passed and was given the go ahead for 1st grade this year, we thought he would benefit from Kindergarten one more year. He had a GREAT summer of ABA therapy and learned SO much. He will still be receiving all of this therapies in the afternoons after school each day.

Meanwhile, they are both very excited about Mommy going to Vietnam next week to bring home their baby sister. They are both going to be GREAT big brothers. Dylan keeps refering to Madison as "his baby". I'm sure they will have a really fun time with Daddy while I am away.

4th of July Weekend

We spent the 4th of July weekend with Uncle Pat, Aunt Jessica, cousins Justin & Charlie & Grandma down in Tampa Florida. It was a fun weekend full of barbeques, swimming, lots of playing, fireworks and celebrating a "special" birthday for Grandma.

On the way home the boys had a special treat of seeing Jeff Gordon's car hauler along I-95. It was on it's way home from the NASCAR races that took place in Daytona over the weekend.

The other exciting thing that happened over the weekend was Dylan losing 2 more teeth. One on the way there while we were stopped at a rest area and the other the day after we got home. Both he pulled out himself. The toothfairy could hardly keep up!

School's Out!

Wow! It seems like I just posted about the boy's first day of school and here I am already posting about their last day of school. Yesterday was the end of a great & successful school year for both boys. On Wednesday Brendan and Andy went to the Riverdogs baseball game downtown with Brendan's 2nd grade class as their end of the year field trip. They had a lot of fun, but it was VERY hot! Dylan had his end of the year field trip the week before to the South Carolina Aquarium with his Kindergarten class and had a fun time as well. We don't have a whole lot planned for the summer. Dylan will be having about 30 hours per week of home ABA therapy during the summer which will do him a lot of good to keep him brushed up on all of the skills he learned this past school year and help get him ready for 1st grade in the fall. His therapists are great about mixing work and fun and have special days when they take him to fun places like the beach, pool, waterpark, park & the aquarium just to name a few. So it won't be all work for Dylan this summer. Brendan is looking forward to riding his bike, going to the beach and pool & hanging out with Mommy a lot. Oh, I almost forgot, they are both looking forward to watching the NASCAR races this summer rooting for their favorite driver.......GO JR!

Look at these handsome boys!

Here are the boys spring pictures they had taken at school. They turned out so good! We just got them back yesterday and wanted to post them for everyone to see. We are really glad Dylans turned out good this time because we had to return his fall pictures because he was making a funny face. Everyone will also be getting pictures through the mail in the next week.

NASCAR Season 2008!

Brendan is sooooooooo excited about the start of NASCAR season on Sunday with the Daytona 500. His favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a new number and 2 new sponsors this year. It was so hard to contain him last weekend when Jr. won the Budweiser Shoot Out race!

Brendan Turns 8!

Happy Birthday Brendan! Wow it's hard to believe Brendan is 8. He had a great birthday this year. It started with cupcakes at school with his class on Thursday followed by a fun dinner of McDonald's happy meals, some presents and more cupcakes with Mom, Dad & Dylan that night. Then on Friday night we had another small gathering with our friends the Jones', the Austins, Miss Caroline and Ryan and we had pizza and cake and more presents. Brendan chose a NASCAR theme this year. Then on Saturday Papa and Donna came over and we had MORE cake and MORE presents. Brendan got a joystick for his computer, a couple of computer games, lots of board games and yes, another webkinz to add to his family, this time he got the golden retriever and what did he name her? Savannah!

New Additions to the Webkinz Family

Brendan received several new additions to his Webkinz family over the Holidays. His new additions include, Mr. Moo the cow, Hippie the Hippo, Germie the German Sheppard, Air Bouncer the reindeer, and Tiger the alley cat. One other one he received before the holidays was Spot the Dalmation. I think he has a total of 8 Webkinz now. Wow! Of course we have included all of their pictures for everyone to see.
